Sharp has been awarded the Bronze certification in the PRIDE Index, which evaluates actions related to LGBTQ+ and other sexual minorities (hereinafter referred to as LGBTQ+) in the workplace.
At Sharp, we aim to foster innovation by respecting the individuality of each employee, leading to the development of unique technologies and services, and proposing new values. Moving forward, we will continue to strive to create a workplace environment where employees with diverse attributes can fully demonstrate their abilities, actively promoting diversity management, including actions related to LGBTQ+.
The PRIDE Index, established by the general incorporated association “work with Pride,” is an evaluation index for actions related to LGBTQ+ in the workplace, and the award system started in 2016. Certification is based on the achievement of five criteria, Policy (Action Declaration), Representation (Community of Parties Involved), Inspiration (Awareness Activities), Development (HR Systems and Programs), and Engagement/Empowerment (Social Contribution and Public Relations Activities). If certain standards are met, certification is awarded in three levels, Gold, Silver, and Bronze, based on the points obtained.
Note: LGBTQ+ is a general term for sexual minorities such as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer / Questioning.
