Sharp received Outstanding Award and Encouragement Award at the FY2025 (74th) Awards for Distinguished Achievement in Electrical Engineering, organized by Japan Electrical Manufacturers’ Association (JEMA).
The Awards for Distinguished Achievement in Electrical Engineering are presented annually to individuals who have achieved outstanding results through the development of new products and technologies and have contributed to the advancement of the electrical industry. At the award ceremony held on October 16 (Thu.) at Tokyo Kaikan (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), Masatoshi Fujii, recipient of Outstanding Award, and Yuriko Mizumoto, both from the Smart Appliances & Solutions BU, attended the ceremony as representatives of all award recipients.
Japan Toy Awards is established with the aim of encouraging the creation and widespread adoption of safe, high-quality toys that people can enjoy with confidence. This year marks the 17th edition of the awards. Kidult Category recognizes products primarily targeted at adults.
Outstanding Award
Sharp’s development theme, “Development of a Front-loading Washer Dryer with Further Enhanced Energy Efficiency,” received Outstanding Award.
As the importance of energy conservation continues to increase worldwide, improving energy efficiency not only helps reduce environmental impact but also offers significant benefits to users by lowering household electricity costs. The newly developed product further advances industry-leading energy efficiency performance at the individual appliance level and enables the management of surplus electricity through integration with residential storage batteries. This capability is expected to promote the adoption of Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS). In addition, the synergy between Sharp’s washing machine business and its solar power generation system business was highly evaluated for its potential to drive business expansion.

- Development of “Celerity™” High-Speed Oven <SWA3099MS> Featuring an Industry-First Golden Heater
- Development of the “HEALSIO Toaster” Equipped with the “Preferred Texture Meister” Function, Allowing Users to Select Their Desired Texture
- Development of a Stick Vacuum Cleaner with an Automatic Dust Collection System Featuring Low Noise and Enhanced Ease of Maintenance
- Development of “Good Night AI Control” Technology
