Sharp Corporation will introduce into the Japanese market six new models in the AQUOS R Series with the highest image quality yet: 65V-, 52V-, and 46V-inch*¹ models available in two colors each let viewers enjoy the Internet on a large screen in high definition and with high image quality.

The R Series AQUOS connects to the Internet and allows easy, remote-controlled access to one's favorite Web sites. "AQUOS.jp," the Web site for AQUOS owners, offers a wealth of content including services like Yahoo! Japan for AQUOS and DoTV Digital Magazine*², all in full high definition. With a full high definition large screen, these R Series AQUOS models faithfully reproduce detailed photographs and illustrations and make it possible to easily view magazine pages and maps on the TV screen and thus offer a new Internet experience that is not possible on a PC. And the R Series' compatibility with the acTVila Video Full*³ video-on-demand service means owners can see the latest movies in the most advanced, best-quality high-definition available.

The R Series also features a contrast ratio of 3,300:1, the highest in the world*⁴. And with the ability to automatically adjust the backlight brightness and LCD panel aperture ratio to the optimal level according to the images being displayed, the R Series achieves a TV contrast*⁵ of 20,000:1, the industry's highest*⁴. This combines with the 12-bit BDE*⁶ color value rendering technology and Smooth Image Quality to reproduce subtle color gradation with rich detail and a feeling of depth, delivering the highest-quality images ever seen in an AQUOS.
