Auto Filter Sweeping System
Sharp’s FilterSweep heat pump makes clean, efficient operation effortless. Its Auto Filter Cleaning System works automatically after each use, brushing away dust from the filter area to keep the unit clean inside.
At the core of this system is Sharp’s original design: a sweeper that captures dust, a large-capacity dust box to store it, and a dedicated motor that keeps the process running smoothly. With this setup, the dust box only needs to be emptied about once every six months, providing long-lasting convenience.
The result is more than just clean filters. You get reliable airflow, steady cooling and heating performance, greater energy efficiency, and healthier indoor air that enhances everyday comfort.

Regular removal of dust and pollutants keeps the filter area clean and the air in your home healthier. This reduces the chance of buildup affecting air quality and ensures a more comfortable environment for everyone, particularly those sensitive to allergens. The unit continues to perform steadily while providing fresher airflow and long-lasting comfort with minimal effort.
Improved Energy Efficiency
The Auto Filter Cleaning System keeps the filter area clean, allowing the unit to operate with maximum efficiency. Dust buildup blocks airflow and forces the unit to work harder, but regular filter cleaning prevents this drop in performance. Internal testing shows the system can reduce power consumption by up to 20% compared to units with unmaintained filters. By reducing strain on key components, it also supports smoother operation and longer-lasting performance.
Based on internal testing with model AY-T40V (unit without Auto Filter Cleaning), power consumption was 2,577 Wh with Auto Cleaning and 3,249 Wh without Auto Cleaning (with approximately 2g of dust on the filter). Testing was conducted in a 248.5 ft² room at 2°C until the set temperature of 23°C was reached. Actual results may vary depending on usage conditions and environment.
Coanda Airflow Technology
With Coanda Airflow technology, the unit delivers smooth, far-reaching airflow that spreads evenly throughout the room. It maintains strong air delivery up to 50 feet (15 meters), providing consistent cooling and heating to every corner.
