    Sharp's first copier, the Sharpfax SF-201, released in 1972, is certified as a " Copying Machine Heritage " by the Imaging Society of Japan.

    This certification is in recognition of the technical and social achievements of the Sharpfax SF-201 as part of the driving force behind the development of the copiers industry in Japan.

    On June 12, the 4th Copying Machine Heritage Certification Ceremony was held at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Mr. Mitsuru Tokuyama, BU Vice President of Smart Business Solutions BU, attended the ceremony on behalf of Sharp.

    Mr. Masahiko Fujii, President of the Imaging Society of Japan, presented the certificate to Mr. Tokuyama with a certificate of recognition.

    Mr. Tokuyama made the following remarks;
    "Thank you very much for certifying the SF-201 as a Copying Machine Heritage. Although we are a latecomer to the copier business, this is the first time we have been recognized as a Copying Machine Heritage. We intend to use this certification to build up our internal activities to improve the brand value of our copiers. In addition, together with the members of the academic society, we would like to explore new technologies and business models to further develop the copier industry for the next 50 years and next 100 years."
