  • Sharp Selected as an "Environmentally Sustainable Company" in the 7th ESG Finance Awards Japan

Sharp has been selected as an "Environmentally Sustainable Company" in the 7th ESG Finance Awards Japan, organized by the Ministry of the Environment. This is the first time Sharp has been selected for this award.

The ESG Finance Awards Japan recognize companies, financial institutions, and other organizations that actively promote environmental and social initiatives as well as ESG finance*1, and that have made a positive impact on society. By widely sharing these advanced initiatives with the public, the award aim to promote and expand ESG finance. According to The Ministry of the Environment, the ESG Finance Awards Japan was established in 2019 to promote and expand ESG finance, and that the 7th awards were conferred on February 16, 2026. This designation as "Environmentally Sustainable Company" is granted to companies whose information disclosure on key environmental issues—including "risks, business opportunities and strategies," "KPIs," and "governance"—meets a certain level of fulfillment.

Under its long-term environmental vision, "SHARP Eco Vision 2050," Sharp has been steadily advancing initiatives aimed at achieving carbon neutrality and a circular economy. Through its participation in RE100*2, Sharp has raised the ratio of renewable energy used in its business activities to approximately 25%, among other achievements. The company has also been proactively communicating its strategies, KPIs, and progress through its Sustainability Report 2025. Sharp believes that this selection reflects recognition of these ongoing ESG initiatives.

Sharp will continue to promote highly transparent information disclosure and enhance corporate value. At the same time, the company will expand advanced and effective ESG measures and indicators, thereby contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
