Sharp’s Plasmacluster Air Conditioner R Series won the Grand Prize in the Home Appliances for Childcare and Household category at the "BabyTech® Awards 2025-26," organized by the BabyTech® Awards 2025-26 Executive Committee. The BabyTech® Awards is a competition that honors outstanding ICT services and products for childcare through a rigorous screening process conducted by experts.

Yusuke Kurata, Manager of the Air-Conditioning System Business Unit, Smart Appliances & Solutions BU, attended the award ceremony held on March 29 at STAGE on the second floor of Tokyo Innovation Base.

The judges commented that "the air environment is extremely important for children’s development, and the anti-mold function makes this a highly practical air conditioner. It is also good that the product’s points of difference from competitors are clearly highlighted," and that "because this is a feature users cannot see, it requires both technology and careful attention to detail. Families with infants in particular are likely to be especially mindful of such an environment." They also noted, "This is a product that can be widely used not only for babies, but in any setting where clean air is desired. I hope it will also be considered when installing equipment in small apartment-style daycare facilities."

At the ceremony, Yusuke Kurata commented: "The Plasmacluster Air Conditioner R Series was developed under the product concept of 'First Air,' with the desire to make the very first air a baby experiences gentler and cleaner. Through the combined effect of our proprietary Plasmacluster technology and the 'Mold-Control Dry Fan,' the system sterilizes mold lurking inside the air conditioner 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, helping keep the air blown from the unit clean. We will continue evolving the product to bring smiles to more families raising children."
