"One-of-a-Kind" Story
In 2000, Sharp released a 28-inch LCD TV that was the world's first TV compatible with digital HDTV broadcasts. Equivalent in screen size to a 30-inch CRT, this TV was just 60 millimeters in depth and could also be used as a PC monitor.
The LC-28HD1 employed a newly-developed black TFT with a 2.95-million-pixel resolution and an industry-leading (at that time) brightness of 450 cd/m2.
