Sharp developed new Chilled Air Technology that radiatively cools without cold air coming into direct contact with food items while keeping food moist by simultaneously supplying moisture inside the cooling compartment. This cooling system is based on a new concept of keeping foods moist while chilling and succeeds in minimizing dehydration stress, which has traditionally been the greatest problem of refrigerators and a major factor leading to deterioration of various refrigerated food items. Retention of vitamin C and moisture is approximately three times greater and oxidation of oils and fats is reduced by roughly half. These models feature an innovative new design that enables users to actually see moisture being supplied in the cooling compartment with their own eyes.
