Corporate Vision
CEO Message
Aiming to be “In step with your future.” by integrating AI into every aspect of “living” and “working”
Guided by the founding spirit of our founder, Tokuji Hayakawa, “Make products that others want to imitate”, Sharp has continually anticipated changes in lifestyles and ways of working, creating new value along the way. Beginning with the Ever-Ready Sharp Pencil (mechanical pencil) that gave our company its name, and followed by a succession of world-firsts, Japan-firsts, and industry-firsts, including Japan's first commercially produced TV set, LCD calculators and LCD TVs, camera-equipped mobile phones, Plasmacluster Ion technology, and Superheated Steam Oven, our history reveals our relentless spirit of taking on challenges.
Looking ahead, we will continue to stay in step with people's everyday lives, listening even to their smallest voices, and delivering new experiences that bring surprise and delight. With this commitment, we established our new corporate slogan, “In step with your future.” in September 2025.
In the years ahead, the way people live and work will continue to change significantly, and AI will serve as one of the key drivers of this transformation. As a company that provides a wide range of products across the domains of “living” and “working,” supporting people throughout their day, from morning to night, we believe that effectively integrating AI into everyday life will enable us to open new possibilities for the future.
Based on this perspective, Sharp will focus on three core business areas: Smart Life Business and Smart Workplace Business, which serve as touchpoints with customers, and Display Device Business, which generates cutting-edge technologies. Through these pillars, we will leverage AI across all scenes of “living” and “working” to create new value. Furthermore, in the “living” domain, we will expand beyond the home into mobility fields, while in the “working” domain, we will extend our value offering beyond offices, retail, and public sectors into fields such as robotics and industry. In addition, we will promote new business development in areas such as AI infrastructure and next-generation communications, contributing to the development of the social foundations that support AI-driven value creation.
Through these initiatives, we will stay close to people, creating values that anticipates and exceeds their expectations, and help build a more prosperous society.
