 | It is needless to say that technological strength is a requirement to survive international business competition. With that in mind, we intend to accelerate our R&D activities this year.
We established a new group-level organization, the Corporate Advanced Technology Strategic Planning Group in Tokyo as of January 1, 2001 and appointed Corporate Executive Director Kawata as Group General Manager. This Group is responsible for planning, promoting and supervising corporate technological R&D strategies company-wide. |
| We will extend our base of business contacts in order to access a broad range of information, and collect and analyze the latest technological information to work out managerial strategies. |
