Plasmacluster Installation Case: 2

Dispersing Plasmacluster Ions from the Ceiling.
Fresh Air Means Fresh Sushi.

Company: Daiki Suisan Co., Ltd.
Industry: Restaurant
Location: Osaka city, Japan
Products: Ion generator IG-2B35A (4 units), IG-1B10A (6 units)

Issues before Installation
In January 2012, Daiki Suisan opened a conveyor-belt sushi bar in Osaka’s Whity Umeda mall, an underground shopping complex with attendant limitations in air circulation. Despite being one of the smallest restaurants in the company’s chain, the Whity Umeda restaurant attracts the largest number of customers.Air quality in the restaurant was an area identified as being in need of improvement.
Effects after Installation
1. A more hygienic air environment has been achieved through efficient dispersal of Plasmacluster ions from the ceiling.
2. As the Plasmacluster ion generators are neatly embedded in the ceiling, there was no loss of valuable customer seating space.
3. Plasmacluster technology serves to effectively enhance the air quality in the Daiki Suisan sushi restaurant, thereby enhancing the freshness of the sushi on offer there.

Installation purpose
Thorough hygiene control needed in underground restaurant where air was stagnant.
With the opening in Whity Umeda of Daiki Suisan’s twenty-second conveyor-belt sushi bar, we realized more than ever the importance of achieving thorough hygiene control in an underground location where odors tend to linger and where ventilation is compromised. Although the restaurant is small compared to our other restaurants, its excellent location means that it attracts the largest number of customers. This restaurant is almost always packed with customers, hence the need for a clean air environment in which patrons can enjoy their meals in comfort.

The Reason for Choosing Plasmacluster
Trust of Sharp’s solid reputation and proven track record of Plasmacluster products.
Ceiling-installed model saves space in a crowded restaurant
I was already aware of the benefits of Plasmacluster ion generators, since I use one at home. My confidence was further boosted by hearing of numerous cases of effective installations of this technology in hospital rooms and other locations where people gather. Furthermore, the ceiling-installed model does not take up any extra space in a restaurant crowded with customers. Being installed in a high position allows the Plasmacluster ion generator to disperse Plasmacluster ions efficiently throughout the room while saving electricity, another major plus.

Effects after Installation
Post-installation test results confirm a huge reduction in bacteria.
Residual odors effectively removed.
Following the installation in the restaurant, we measured Plasmacluster ion concentrations and changes in the number of airborne bacteria. We were able to confirm that ions were dispersed in high concentrations throughout the restaurant and that the number of airborne bacteria was significantly reduced. In addition, residual odors were noticeably reduced something that employees remarked on when arriving at the workplace in the morning. It gives us great confidence to be able to provide a clean air environment to our customers in a crowded restaurant.

Future Ideas
Continuing to pursue freshness and provide outstanding sushi and air quality!
May install ion generators in new restaurants
For a restaurant to provide excellent hospitality, three critical factors are the environment, the food ingredients, and the service. Our restaurant environment was greatly enhanced with the installation of Plasmacluster ion generators. They give us an edge in promoting our restaurant to customers as a sushi bar with high standards for air quality and sushi freshness. Going forward, we will continue to gauge the effects of Plasmacluster ion generators and we will consider installing them when we open new restaurants.
