Issues before Installation
Hot yoga studios present a challenging air environment
Bikram Yoga lessons are conducted in a hot and humid environment similar to that found in India. For participants in these lessons, profuse sweating is an important part of the process. The resulting body odors tend to linger in the room after lessons, while perspiration on the floors and walls provides a breeding ground for bacteria. Reducing these effects was recognized as a vital issue for the yoga studio.

Bikram Yoga lessons are conducted in a hot and humid environment similar to that found in India. For participants in these lessons, profuse sweating is an important part of the process. Reducing these effects was recognized as a vital issue for the yoga studio.
Effects after Installation
1. Instructors and participants appreciate improved air quality. Sweaty odors were greatly reduced in our studios. Instructors noted that the air feels much fresher when they enter the studios in the morning.

Over the years, our company has made repeated efforts to deal with the resultant body odors and perspiration adhering to floors and walls, so that bacterial growth could be suppressed in this hot and humid environment. Previously, we tried using ozone products and chlorine chemicals when cleaning the studios. But, owing to the potential danger of health side effects, these could not be used during yoga sessions.

By measuring the amount of bacteria present when using our usual equipment and comparing this with the amount of bacteria present after using the Plasmacluster ion generators for 10 days, we were able to confirm a significant reduction in bacteria levels. Our decision to go ahead with the permanent installation of Sharp Plasmacluster products was further bolstered by customer requests to keep using the products.
