The VL-NZ10U/S/H/E boasts a detachable microphone which adjusts its directionality in accordance with changes in the camera's zoom. Unlike conventional microphones, which merely pick up nearby sounds, the VL-NZ10U/S/H/E's sensitive zoom microphone captures the voices of distant figures being focussed on by the zoom lens. *N.B. Optional in the UK (VL-NZ10H) |

Despite being such
a compact Viewcam, the VL-NZ10U/S/H/E features a powerful
10x optical zoom, delivering magnification equivalent to that of a 46 mm
- 460 mm power zoom on a conventional 35 mm camera. The beauty of an optical
zoom lies in its ability to capture the fine details of images. Everything
from a droplet of water to a strand of hair is rendered with extremely low
image degradation. On top of this, the VL-NZ10U/S/H/E
comes with a 300x digital zoom*, allowing you to make dynamic close-ups
of distant images. *N.B. The higher the digital zoom setting, the greater the amount of image degradation. |

The VL-NZ10U/S/H/E's recording guide helps you compose your video images accurately, as you would with the viewfinder guide on a conventional still camera. |
This intelligent feature compensates for a lack of brightness in darker areas of your images without interfering with lighter areas. Even if your subject is backlit or covered in shadow it's possible to see it clearly. The optimal compensation level can be selected automatically during recording, and manually during playback. |
