    (Note) A "vulnerability" is an information security defect caused by a program defect or design error in a digital product's OS or software. This is different from damage or physical defects in the product itself.

    Vulnerability Countermeasure Firmware Provision Policy for Digital Multifunctional System

    In accordance with the Vulnerability Disclosure Policy (see https://global.sharp/corporate/info/product-security/), Sharp may provide customers with updated firmware (hereinafter referred to as “countermeasure firmware”). for the purpose of countermeasures against security vulnerabilities discovered in Sharp Digital Multifunctional System (hereinafter referred to as “device”).

      End date of provision of countermeasure firmware to customers shall be determined as the table below.
    • How to notify customers of countermeasure firmware provision
      Sharp will notify customers of countermeasure firmware provision with one or more of the following ways:
      • Sharp web site
      • Customer’s service representative
      • Display the notification on the operation panel of the device using online firmware update function (if applicable)
    • How to provide customers with countermeasure firmware
      Sharp will provide customers with countermeasure firmware by one or more of the following ways:
      • Customer’s service representative
      • Online firmware update function (if applicable)
