Research at Sharp into liquid crystal materials has seen it develop a “cooling material” capable of controlling the temperature at which materials freeze and melt at will. This technology can be used in various fields as a means of “thermal storage” capable of maintaining a constant temperature between – 24 and +28°C by combining various materials with a base of water.

We can propose wide-ranging applications that make our lives and work easier, including beverage industry applications, such as Japanese sake coolers, approaches to help stay cool, such as body coolers, and logistics, such as the managing efforts to transport goods at the right temperature.

We have leveraged research into liquid crystal to successfully develop a cold insulation material capable of maintaining various temperatures (-24 to 28 °C).

A constant temperature is maintained, with the “optimal temperature” in each case maintained for an extended period.
