Challenges before implementation

We installed our original digital signage system about 10 years ago. We made great use of it inside and outside the store, but eventually it became worn out. This led us to consider replacing it all at once. We wanted to replace our signage system with brighter, high-definition displays to enhance its appeal. And we wanted to streamline the process of updating display content with more advanced distribution software.

We installed Sharp's information displays throughout our store and on exterior walls facing the sidewalk on Shijo-dori Street about ten years ago to provide digital signage. They became an indispensable tool for providing customers with store advertisements, information on sales, and store notices. But as they showed wear and tear over the years, we began thinking about replacing them. We hoped that replacing them with brighter, high-def displays would enhance the appeal of signage content and that updating the content delivery software would make the system easier and more convenient to use.

This gives us the advantage of being able to choose the optimal high-def 4K product for each installation location and purpose. In addition, Sharp has taken its content delivery software to a higher level with e-Signage S, which is simpler and easier to operate and prevents operational errors. Sharp also provides a very thorough maintenance system. We have used this system in the past and always received friendly support from representatives fully familiar not only with the displays themselves but also with our equipment and systems. That peace of mind was another factor behind our decision to go with Sharp.

Replacing our equipment with new bright, high-def displays has enhanced the appeal of our signage, as it is now more noticeable not only within the store but also when installed outside. At the same time, e-Signage S's timetable is easier to use. The process of displaying restaurant ads after shop floor hours or switching display content to coincide with weekends is now much smoother. The ability to supply information in a timely manner makes our signage more effective in terms of sales promotion. And if a problem ever occurs, we can quickly find solutions on e-Signage S's “Status Monitoring and Control” page. This gives us a sense of security when operating the system.

We are currently thinking about installing additional digital signage in other areas of our store. We still use posters and other forms of printed media in various locations. We want to replace them with digital signage while being mindful of the store's environment.
