Sharp Releases LX Series LED AQUOS Incorporating Next-Generation LCD Panels
Sharp developed a photo-alignment technology called UV2A as a core technology for next-generation LCD TV panels. By adopting a special alignment-film material that responds to UV (ultraviolet) radiation, this technology can precisely control the alignment of liquid crystal molecules in accordance with the direction of the radiation.
Sharp released four LX Series LED AQUOS models, which employ an LCD panel incorporating UV2A technology and an LED backlight. Sharp began introducing this new series into worldwide markets with the November 10, 2009 release in Japan.
