How can I install Sharpdesk Ver.5.1 on my PC? (Tips No.01474)
Sharpdesk Ver.5.1
The following instruction shows how to download the latest version of the software from our homepage.
Procedure
1. Select software you would like to install on your PC.
Enter the product name etc.on "Software Downloads" page.
The installed OS of your PC will be automatically detected. Click [NEXT].
Select the software you would like to download on "Downloads" page.
1. Example
(1) Select Country/Region: Asia
(2) Enter Product Namebr: Sharpdesk Ver.5.1
(3) Select Language of Driver/Software: UK English
The automatically detected OS for server may differ from the actual OS.
If the detected OS is different from the actual OS, click [Select another OS] and select the OS of your PC from the list box.
If the OS cannot be auto-detected.
When a list box appears, select the OS of your PC from the list.
How to find the OS information of your PC.
To check the OS information of your PC, please refer to "How do I know my PC is 32bit or 64bit?"
If there are more than one software on "Software Downloads" page.
Please select the software appropriate for your computer environment.
2. Download the software and execute the downloaded file.
Click [Download] button and click [Save] in the displayed window.
Depending on your PC environment, sometimes the file is saved automatically without opening the window.
3. Execute the installer.
Uncompress the compressed file, right-click on the file and click [Run as administrator].
Administrator rights are required to execute the installation.
- Right-click the saved file, then click [Run as administrator] in the menu.
- Enter the administrator password, if required.
4. User Account Control window will open.
Click [Yes] when the window appears with a message: "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device".
5. Language setting window will appear.
Select [English], then click [OK].
6. InstallShield Wizard will open with a message: "Welcome to InstallShield Wizard for Sharpdesk".
Click [Next >].
If Sharpdesk Ver.5.1 is installed.
If Sharpdesk Ver.3.5 is installed.
The window will open with a message: "Please uninstall the older version of Sharpdesk…". Click [OK] to close the window. See "Uninstall the older version of the software (Sharpdesk Ver.3.5)" section of another FAQ, "How can I upgrade Sharpdesk Ver.3.5 (Version which contains 'Product Key Details…' in the Help Menu) to Sharpdesk Ver.5.1?" for the details.
If .NET Framework4.6 or later is not installed.
The window will open with a message: "Sharpdesk requires .NET Framework 4.6 or later to be installed." Click [OK] to close the window. For the details, see "When I try to install Sharpdesk Ver.5.1, a message 'Sharpdesk requires .NET Framework 4.6 or later to be installed,' appears.".
7. "Information" screen will appear.
Check the information then click [Next >].
8. "License Agreement" screen will appear.
Read the Software License Agreement and check [I accept the terms in the license agreement] then click [Next >].
9. "Setup Type" screen will appear.
Check [Typical] then click [Next >]. After a while, the file copy operation will begin.

10. "Screen of "Windows Firewall Unblock Utility" will Appear.
Click the [Allow access] button.
Reference
This screen only appears when Sharpdesk Ver.5.1 is installed for the first time.
11. "InstallShield Wizard Completed" screen will appear.
Click [Finish] button.
12. When the installation completes, start Sharpdesk Ver.5.1.
When the installation completes, double-click the Sharpdesk icon on your desktop to start Sharpdesk Ver.5.1.
13. When Sharpdesk Ver.5.1 is started, move on to the online activation.
When Sharpdesk Ver.5.1 is started for the first time, the screen for the online activation appears. Enter your product key application number into the entry field then click [OK].

If the activation failed.
See"Although I enter a product key application number, the activation fails." for the details.
14. Check out that Sharpdesk Ver.5.1 is started.
When the online activation is completed successfully, Sharpdesk Ver.5.1 becomes available.
