Sharp’s IB-WX901/SP54C*1 Plasmacluster Drape Flow Dryer has won a bronze award in the 2024 Design Intelligence Award (DIA). The honor comes in the product group*2, commemorating prototypes or products released within the past two years.
The DIA is an international design award established in 2015 by the China Academy of Art, one of China’s top fine arts universities. The 2024 DIA saw over 8,000 entrants from 47 countries.
The awarded Sharp product adopts a speed drying method called Drape Flow X4 to send a rapid, powerful air flow from four air outlets that pushes and separates hair and effectively reaches hair from root to tip. The novel, slim design has a short nozzle and a high-speed, lightweight motor located inside the handle, which besides looking smart places minimal burden on the wrist during use. The Plasmacluster ions which are the same type of ions occurring in nature, minimize damage from static electricity and friction and help give hair a lustrous sheen. Also, the dryer features Sensing mode, which uses a proximity sensor and AI to automatically adjust airflow temperature for minimizing heat damage to hair. The Plasmacluster Drape Flow Dryer supports daily care for beautiful hair.
Sharp continues to deliver products, services, and solutions that are designed to be not just aesthetically pleasing but also functional and easy to use, and that bring smiles to everyone who experiences them.
*1 The IB-WX901 is for the Japanese market and the IB-SP54C is for the Chinese market.
*2 In addition to the product group, DIA has a concept group, which honors the design stage of products being developed.
