How can I upgrade Sharpdesk Ver.5.1 to the latest Sharpdesk Ver.5.1? (Tips No.01734)

Sharpdesk Ver.5.1

To install latest Sharpdesk Ver.5.1 on the PC on which Sharpdesk Ver.5.1 has already been installed, start the latest version of installer for Sharpdesk Ver.5.1 first. Follow the installation instructions below.
The following example shows how to install latest Sharpdesk Ver.5.1 on the Windows 10 PC on which Shardesk Ver.5.1 is installed.

About the handover of configuration

  • The Network Scanner Tool profiles (destinations) can be taken over.
  • If you are using Sharpdesk Ver.5.1.0.52, configuration other than profiles (destinations) can be taken over.
    If the version of your current Sharpdesk ver.5.1 is version 5.1.0.52 or earlier, configuration other than profiles (destinations) cannot be taken over.
    Please refer to "How can I check the version of Sharpdesk?", for more information about how to check the software version.

Procedure

1. Execute the installation of "Sharpdesk Ver.5.1".
See the information below for the details.

2. The below screen will appear when "latest Sharpdesk Ver.5.1" is installed on PC on which "Sharpdesk Ver.5.1" has already been installed. Click [Yes].

3. InstallShield Wizard will open with a message: "Welcome to InstallShield Wizard for Sharpdesk". Click [Next >]

4. "Information" screen will appear.

Check the information then click [Next >].

5. "License Agreement" screen will appear.

Read the Software License Agreement and check [I accept the terms in the license agreement] then click [Next >].

6. Click [OK] when the screen appears with a message: "Files in Use".

7. When "Confirm Uninstall" screen appears, click [OK].

Reference

If the version of your current Sharpdesk is "Version 5.1.0.52", this screen doesn't appear.

8. Click [OK] when the screen appears with a message: "Uninstall is about to delete...".

If the version of your current Sharpdesk is "Version 5.1.0.52", this screen doesn't appear.

About the destination of the sample file

As described in the dialog above, the sample files are stored in "C:\Users\sharp\Documents\Sharpdesk Desktop". Make backup copies of the files if necessary.

9. Screen of "Windows Firewall Unblock Utility" will Appear.

Click the [Allow access] button.

Reference

This screen only appears when it is necessary to unblock Windows Firewall.

10. Click [Finish] button when the screen appears with a message: "InstallShield Wizard Completed".
