What are the main advantages of the SM-SX100?
There are three main advantages. First Sharp's 1-bit technology allows for amplification which is faithful to the source with no exposure to external noise or physical interference. Second, it has a small footprint, and is compact. Third, it is superior compared to conventional amplifiers in terms of energy efficiency.

Should one expect a digital connection from a CD player or transport?
For connecting to existing CD players digital connections are superior in terms of lower noise and distortion. Different D/A converters use different approaches, using DSP to interpolate or downsample signals for example, so we suggest making a comparison and choosing the connection method that you prefer.

Can the SM-SX100 play back CDs?
Absolutely. Sharp's 1-bit amplifier's 2.8 MHz switching rate means that the music produced by the CDs can be represented with an excellent sense of threshold and space.

Does Sharp plan on developing an SACD player?
Yes. Combining Sharp's upcoming SACD player with Sharp's 1-bit amplifier will yield the world's first "Direct Bitstream Coupling" audio system, in which SACD music contents can be conveyed directly to the speakers without loss.
